all the games, with sole emphasis on the 16U division.

While reviewing the film, I was particularly impressed by the Team CP3 EYBL 16U team, which has a talented roster featuring already established high-end prospects at the national level.

Draftstack has a breakdown of the top four prospects and gives our thoughts on how they project going into the future.

Team CP3 EYBL 16U went 4-0 in Atlanta with a 88-55 win over Florida Rebels, 56-49 over PSA Cardinals, 78-57 over AOT, and a 68-55 win over All Ohio in the final game. I was able to view all four games to get a clear picture of what happened at Nike EYBL Session I.

I didn’t want this exercise to dwell on the prospect’s high school season and stats because the players have different roles on their high school teams and face differing competition levels. So, the analysis will be how the prospects stack up physically, athletically, and production-wise against the top competition that is provided by the EYBL.

Let’s go into the four prospects that I think have profiles that distinguish themselves and that also possess the potential to be NBA players.

Mekhi Allen (NC), 6’6” 2028 shooting guard, Queen’s Grant Academy, Team CP3 EYBL

I’m higher on Allen than the national rankings industry consensus. The only negative thought that I’ll put into words on here on Allen is that he’s consistently listed at 6’7” but my eye puts him a little lower at 6’6” — I could be wrong but that’s what I’m seeing.

Now we start the praises for the Draftstack future nationally-ranked prospect — and there’s many areas of his game and profile worthy of praise, which the 45-second video from EYBL Session I below will show.

I’m higher on Allen than the national rankings industry consensus. The only negative thought that I’ll put into words on here on Allen is that he’s consistently listed at 6’7”, but my eye puts him a little lower at 6’6”—I could be wrong, but that’s what I’m seeing.

Allen’s physical profile is perfectly positioned to continue ascending the competition ladder. His 6’6” height with what looks to be a positive wingspan at the two-guard spot is more than satisfactory. Even though he didn’t connect from three at an elite level in the four games, he had one of the best looking shooting strokes and shooting rhythms at Session I. His misses were on target, and it looked like he was adjusting or conscious of his shot depth unnecessarily. His pure shooting stroke and shooting ability was reflected by his performance from the free-throw line, where he went 8-9 for 88.9%. At Session I, he scored 10.8 points per game, and I see that improving throughout the offseason because I have confidence in his shotmaking.

Allen’s defensive performance at EYBL Session I is a main reason—complimented with his offensive qualities—as to why I have him on my national 2028 rankings board. He was both a containment defender, and he also caused turnovers by deflections or by stealing passes in the air. He was given credit for seven total steals for 1.8 steals per game—and if you added his total deflections to that number, it would more accurately depict his defensive impact.

Allen has offers from Georgia, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, Cincinnati, East Carolina, North Carolina A&T, Kennesaw State, Campbell, UNC Charlotte, Queens University of Charlotte, and Drexel.

I think that Allen has a solid shot at the NBA—and if he polishes up his frame with more muscle and functional strength, it will help his game in all areas and allow him to show periods of on-court dominance. The added strength and planned physical maturity will make him a more explosive and confident athlete.

Bentley Lusakueno (GA), 6’10” 2028 forward, Woodward Academy, Team CP3 EYBL

Lusakueno is a high-upside prospect and a top 10 2028 prospect in the United States because of his top percentile length and skillset. He sports a long wingspan that easily clears 7’ in length.

<picture></picture>

<g>

</g><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line>

Bentley Lusakueno, 6’10” 2028 forward

He has a lesser-mans Kevin Durant type of profile with similarities in his length and ability to play on the perimeter and knockdown jump-shots. He can create a little offensive isolation, but it has limitations, and it’s nowhere near the handle and shake of the future Hall of Famer Durant.

Lusakueno shot the ball at an elite level in Atlanta, with shooting splits of 56.8/58.3/88.9. His three-point shotmaking was a factor in Team CP3 handling the competition. He led the team in scoring with 16.3 points per game in the four games, and he was 7/12 from three.

He is not a quick-twitch athlete with immediate acceleration. He can build good momentum, but he doesn’t reach it as quickly as a faster guard would. He has heavy knees, and they take some time to make a cycle, but he still can get to a solid top-end speed and run the wing hard with his long, ground-covering strides. If Lusakueno was a slightly better athlete and more fluid and easy mover on the court, he’d be a lock as a top three prospect in the 2028 class no matter who you ask.

Given his choppy defensive feet, he can get beat and misdirected off of the drive, but his long wingspan comes into play at the rim, where Lusakueno blocks a high percentage of his block opportunities. He has excellent timing and is able to block shots without fouling. He does bring excellent defensive activity as well. In the half-court he can cover a lot of ground and space off of the ball with his size and length. He’s actively trying to move around with the pass, and he acts as help and a last line of defense at the rim.

Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Miami, Missouri, Oregon, Rice, and Vanderbilt have extended offers to Lusakueno.

Lusakueno is anticipated to become an NBA prospect, but he must enhance his athleticism and movement in the coming years to become an impactful player who sees the floor early in his career. For Lusakueno, developing his foot speed and mastering the ability to defend quickness on the perimeter and in transition is crucial for him to see the floor.

My prediction is that Lusakueno becomes a very good offensive player as a scorer and shotmaker in the NBA with 20.0 points per game upside. On defense, he will make some statistical impact and be a valuable space-covering defender, but his inability to lockdown on a tough matchup and get individual defensive stops is a concern.

Mason Collins (DE), 6’6” 2028 shooting guard

In terms of offensive statistical production and efficiency, Collins did not perform near that of a top 15 national prospect in the 2028 class at EYBL Session I. He scored 8.3 points per game on a dismal 29.3% from the field and 20% from three. Collin’s shot obviously wasn’t falling, but he still provided value and winning plays with 8.0 rebounds per game, 4.3 assists per game, and 1.5 steals per game.

Collins is not a twitchy athlete, but he also doesn’t move poorly. Enough with the negatives—and while lower on Collins than the consensus—there are qualities I see in his size and on-court play that justify him being a top 15 2028 prospect.

His 6’6” positional size as an off-ball guard is what NBA scouts are looking for. He possesses long arms and a symmetrical build, showcasing solid basketball size on both halves of his body. He’s considered an off-the-ball projection, but when he gets a rebound or a pitch ahead up the court, he can handle the ball quite cleanly on the go and is a great passer and distributor with both his left and right hand. He made some impressive left-handed passes across the court while keeping the ball in his left hand while coming off of the dribble.

Defensively, he is great and brings value with winning plays as a team defender and individual defender. His frame, positioning, instincts on and off the ball, and rebounding ability make him a factor when trying to keep an offense from scoring and then gaining possession and limiting second-chance opportunities. I don’t see elite verticality, but he can still get up and high-point the ball over shorter guards, and he does a very good job at shielding opponents and has good hands to secure the ball when he gets a touch on it. He comes up with loose balls on the floor often just by him having strong hands and optimal hand-eye coordination.

Collins holds offers from South Carolina, Virginia, and Villanova.

Kaharri Coleman (NC), 6’3” He zig-zags through traffic in full-court and half-court transition to get all the way to the rim, and he finishes a high percentage of his at-the-rim attempts. He also has the ability to pull-up from midrange and extended, and he shot the three well on low volume in Atlanta when he was squared up with the hoop. Overall he was 55.6% from two and 42.9% from three, scoring 13.6 points per game.

He has explosiveness in his lower body, and he shows it in transition at times when he leaps off of one foot with momentum carrying him all the way to the rim, where he proceeds to hammer down a hard one-handed dunk. I don’t see elite speed with the ball, but he’s quick enough and has the upper body to muscle himself deep into the lane with a sustained drive to the hoop.

His handle isn’t at an elite level, and the ball is slow from ground to hand. I’d like to see him tighten up and quicken his handle because it will make him quicker with the ball as an attacker. It would lessen the time it takes for him to get off his passes as well.

Defensively, he competes hard on the ball and he disrupts the opponent’s path and space when he decides he has proper positioning and situation to do so. He’ll stay in front of the ball-handler with sudden and powerful lateral defensive movements, using his upper body strength to deter the offensive player as well.

Coleman has offers from Alabama, Cincinnati, Florida State, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, East Carolina, UNC Charlotte, and College of Charleston.

I can see Coleman developing into an NBA point guard with his average length, matured frame, downhill attacking style, and his defense. His defense, especially on the ball, is bordering on an elite level. Coleman’s aggressive playstyle and demeanor both ways, will keep him advancing up the basketball hierarchy.

Adan Diggs Scouting He checks all the boxes from his positional length, two-way ability, fluidity, athleticism, and he possesses a complete offensive skillset. The term three-level-scorer is thrown around loosely but that’s exactly what Adan Diggs is. The guard from national powerhouse and No. 6 team in the nation Millennium High School of Arizona is proving himself to be a top 5 2028 prospect.

Draftstack is a reader-supported publication. He also has a first step quick enough to where he can simply get by his defender with the ball on his hip and finish smoothly with both hands. Diggs moves with power, fluidity, and motion off the drive at the rim.

He sports a knockdown jumper from the mid-range and the three-point line. He can pull-up and rise into a picture-perfect jumpshot that has some fade to it. He also plays well above the rim to where he can catch lobs in transition and put it down easily. Such a fluid athlete in all senses of the description. Moves well in all directions and has explosive qualities to him.

His passing and decision-making as a passer shows his true basketball IQ. He’ll move the ball around the horn and he’ll make the easy and extra pass. He will direct teammates on where to go with the ball as well.

Defensively he’s solid as well. He plays so well off the ball and is an aware team defender. He almost leaves his man to a degree and acts as a defensive roamer. He can maneuver through screening action very well. Diggs is also a defensive playmaker as he’s getting deflections and steals and gets to running the court in transition.

NBA Projection

I think Adan Diggs will be a very good and winning NBA player, but will he be a go-to or high-usage guy? If you’re using a top 3 pick you’re looking to draft a player with superstar potential that can close out games for you. Half of me thinks he could be a legitimate perennial NBA All-Star and the other half of me has him as a valuable second on a team. He’s probably somewhere in between.

I’m unsure I see superstar potential but I think he’ll be of more value than what his scoring average will be. I see him being a 18-20 point scorer at his peak and not in the mid to high 20’s. He doesn’t have that alpha to where he wants to take over a game. But he also has a lot of talent around him at Millennium and he plays within the game quite well. So maybe his team environment will dictate how he plays. That will be something to watch with Vegas Elite in the 2026 offseason.

Bottom line, my prediction is that he’s worth a pick in the 5-8 range in the NBA Draft.

Draftstack is a reader-supported publication. The first thing I want to mention is Jayki is different than the modern day nationally-ranked high school recruit. How so? Jayki plays within the game and his decision-making is advanced. It’s especially noticeable on the EYBL Circuit with AZ Unity when he’s playing alongside other highly-touted recruits. At Mesa High School, he has to go out of his way to take over games at times and in end of game scenarios, but his feel for the game and playing a winning team-first brand of basketball while still being highly impactful is my key takeaway. He has an unflashy game but is still skilled and explosive with the ball and is a great shooter from all areas. His shotmaking and scoring as a varsity starter as a Freshman at Mesa High School is what has gotten him noticed, but I’ll go into detail the additional positive aspects of his game and profile that are crucial to his projection.

Jayki Miles Scouting Report

Film Reviewed (full games)

Nike EYBL Peach Jam

AZ Unity vs Nightdryas Elite (July 16)

AZ Unity vs Team Final (July 15th)

AZ Unity vs NW Rotary (July 15th)

AZ Unity 15U vs PG Elite (July 11th)

Nike Competition 15U EYBL

AZ Unity vs PG Elite (July 11th)

AZ Unity vs Pro Skills (July 10

AZ Unity vs JL3 (May 16th)

High School (NFHS Network)

Mesa High School vs Brophy College Prep - Arizona 6A State Championship

Mesa High School vs Liberty High School - Arizona 6A State Tournament Seminal

Physical Profile

ESPN has Jayki listed at 6’2”, so there was some upfront confusion for me on how tall Jayki is, but by judging film he’s clearly above that and around his more-common 6’4” listing. His overall physical profile is impressive for a guard his age. Lengthy arms and a build built for movement and wiry strength and taking and giving contact. A varsity starter as a Freshman and the physical nature of the competition didn’t deter him.

Offense

As a Freshman starter for Mesa High School, Jayki was a consistent scorer, scoring in at least double-figures every game of the high school season. He finished the season exceptionally strong as a scorer, with 20+ points for seven of the last eight games. He can score at all levels and his 3-point shooting is a strength of his, with NBA 3-point range already developed. He’s able to create his own three and his catch-and-shoot three is one of his top traits as a player, especially on the EYBL Circuit.

Miles makes quick decisions with the ball upon catching it on the perimeter and will get the ball and instantly zip the pass to the next man. An Elite passer in transition and off the bounce. Routinely finds open teammates for high percentage looks. He’s an exceptional passer against zone defenses with his quick movement of the ball and finding openings in the defense.

At the end of games is where he thrives. He wants the ball, and for EYBL AZ Unity he was the go-to scorer as well, being an aggressive attacker downhill to close out games.

Defense

Miles is a legitimate defender and I’m very high on that aspect of his profile. His defense against top 15U guards in the nation is a key aspect of my projection for him. He is a very smart and calculated defender as well, with Elite awareness of the entire action and where he should be positioned. He reacts and anticipates with a correct decision, often. His impressive defensive IQ is accompanied by his Elite fluidity and lateral movement. On the ball he is a tough defender that doesn’t get beat off the dribble and will play tight defense throughout the offensive players move. He sticks with the play to contest or make a play on the ball. His twitchiness makes defending easy for him and he doesn’t have to think about containing his matchup, he’s more interested in making a disruptive play or creating a turnover. A great help/team defender and understands team defense and rotations. He doesn’t over-commit, but he’s within a close enough range to react and make a play off of his own man. In general, to explain his defensive mentality and ability, he seems to have no fear as a defender, in part due to his 6’4” frame, wiry strength, and world-class movement and suddenness.

NBA Projection

Jayki translates to be an NBA point guard, and a very good one in that. He interchanged ball-handling duties on both his high school team and EYBL team, but it’s clear that he’s at his best when the ball is in his hands because he’s such a great playmaker and decision-maker on the move and when he’s attacking the middle. He also handles ball pressure at an Elite level. His draft value and value on the court are at the highest point when he’s viewed and used as a ball-handler and offense creator.

When Jayki declares for the NBA Draft, I think his stock and value will continue to rise throughout the process. He’s currently undervalued by a small margin in my opinion and should be viewed as a Tier-1 prospect. By my prediction, Miles will be an NBA lottery pick when it’s time to declare for the draft.

Jayki will easily transition to the NBA as a lead guard with his lengthy and lean muscular frame that looks like could easily put on 10-15 pounds, naturally. Athletically he’s superior and there are no worries about him handling the speed of the game, either. He can defend speed and length and he has a strength and toughness to him to handle the physical aspects. He has that “dawg” in him and he’s one of those guys you want on your side in a chippy battle and in important games.

I can’t come up with one weakness of his profile that tells me that his game and profile won’t translate to the NBA. I don’t do comps, but to throw out a specific projection for Jayki, I’d have him as a potential All-Star caliber NBA player that would have team success deep into the playoffs as a lead guard with a few solid pieces and a well-built roster to work with.

Jayki Miles projects to be a top NBA Draft prospect with his above average frame, two-ability, IQ on both ends, his playstyle and mentality, Elite facilitation and playmaking passing, self-creating scoring, shot-making, NBA 3-point range, and that “closing” gene.

Draftstack is a reader-supported publication. for me. I normally have a firm stance and evaluation on a prospect, but Miles has me thinking in numerous directions when it comes to his evaluation.

Simpson is clearly not a finished product, going into his high school Sophomore season — but I’m finding it hard to place and rank him where all other outlets have him nationally. I do see the upside with his length, movement, and spurts of explosiveness, but recently he just hasn’t set himself apart on the court enough for me. At Peach Jam, he averaged 7.6 points per game, on 35% overall shooting and 2 of 8 (25%) from 3-point range and a concerning 6 of 15 (40%) from the free throw line. The shooting is just too poor at this time for me. I definitely wouldn’t tab him as a raw prospect, he just needs to take a few consistent forward steps with his shot-making and shooting splits throughout his career. The good news is, is that I have a solution to his projection and shooting woes that involves him not having to become an above average 3-point shooter.

While I wouldn’t rank him so highly on the national level quite yet, I do like what he offers and I see the upside that others are seeing. His 6’5” frame with long arms, movement and fluidity on the court, and athleticism, are something to build upon for a young prospect. His combination of fluidity and quick-twitch movement are reason to get excited about him.

Miles has a body structuring built for movement and athleticism on the court. He’s long but also has a wiry strength and some lean and dense muscle on his top 1/4 of his frame. His clavicle region and shoulders look strong with lean muscle. He’s not thick up top by any means, but you can see some development in that area.

Offensive Strengths:

Sprints the floor hard and wide without the ball in transition.

Can handle the ball at speed and explode with the ball in possession.

Moves the ball well on the perimeter — not a ball-stopper. Drives middle often and creates advantageous ball movement.

Great shot selection and doesn’t force.

Can create his own shot off the dribble.

A skilled passer that passes with accuracy, speed-change, and can increase pass-velocity.

Solid decision-maker as a passer, and natural distributor of the ball.

A well-conditioned athlete that can play heavy minutes without losing explosiveness.

Defensive Strengths:

His lateral movement, quickness, and explosive movements on the defensive side are his most elite traits.

Extremely fluid defender that can chase and move through screens.

Brings effort and defensive energy—flies around and doesn’t sit and rest.

Length as a perimeter defender, using his wingspan effectively to limit and close passing lanes.

He plays with strength and is pushy and fights for positioning with bigger opponents trying to post and gain position on him. A surprising playing strength and will.

He noticeably boxes out tries to move his opponent away from the hoop. He’s an interior battler.

Improvement areas:

Ball-handling to continue his dribble and probe to relieve pressure and create.

He can go long stretches without being an offensive factor.

Shot-making and percentages need drastic improvements.

3-point shooting needs major development.

NBA outcomes

As with every prospect, Simpson’s future outcome ultimately depends on how much work he puts into his game and skill development, and how he grows physically.

Outcome #1 -
Simpson has a floor of a rotation piece on a contending team. There’s a real possibility that he doesn’t become a great scorer or a stat contributor, but someone that can defend on the perimeter and match with good NBA scorers is likely.Miles could become a solid scorer but I don’t see him being a high volume attacker or volume 3-point guy. He doesn’t isolate enough to be a major NBA scorer.

Outcome #2
- Simpson develops into is a starting 2-guard that eventually figures out his shot and improves his range at around the midway point of his NBA career. A 34%+ 3-point shooter that can also play athletically and hit shots in the middle area.

Outcome #3 - Point guard transition

After going through the film and a full breakdown of Miles Simpson, I came to the conclusion that his most optimal NBA path is to develop into a long 6’7”+ point guard that can distribute the ball around and play athletically and quick spurts of explosiveness. He has a skilled enough handle already that just needs refining. He is a natural passer and ball-mover. He can easily defend the point guard position and handle quickness with his length and above average fluidity and twitchiness. I believe Simpson has a clearer and quicker path to NBA impact at the point, rather than spending half of his career trying to become a shooting threat, which itself isn’t a guarantee.

I could envision Miles Simpson being a top 5-12 point guard in the league, that is a choosey scorer that is capable of 20+ point nights. More importantly, I think he would be a winning point guard, rather than a stat-stuffer.

Draftstack is a reader-supported publication.
