2029 RJ Evans Flashes High Ceiling at Revived ABCD Camp

The ABCD Camp is back and young RJ Evans flashed massive potential

The legendary ABCD Camp is back after a 20-year absence. The Academic Betterment and Career Development (ABCD) Camp reestablished July 30th-August 2nd 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona at The PHHacility. The last time the camp was held was in 2006.

The ABCD Camp was founded by Sonny Vaccaro in 1984. Former camp alumni and NBA player Tracy McGrady has taken over as the majority owner, along with partnership with Adidas.

The ABCD Camp is an invite-only camp for the nation’s top high school basketball players. Former camp alumni include Kobe Bryant ‘94-‘95, Tracy McGrady ‘96, Lebron James ‘01, and James Harden ‘05. It’s a tool for development as players, with on-court skill development and competitive games. Plus it’s a great educational and life-skills development resource. The camp provides the athletes with sessions such as Financial literacy and Media 101 workshops, NIL / Branding panel, Education sessions at Exos training facility (mental health/physical health/recovery/biometrics testing), and they also hear from an Adidas athlete panel.

The athletes had the opportunity to compete in front of college coaches and NBA scouts/executives. NBA scouts/executives from all 30 teams were present, along with current NBA assistant coaches.

One prospect that NBA scouts/executives especially had eyes on was 6-foot-7 2029 RJ Evans. Evans is one of the most exciting, young up-and-coming NBA-caliber prospects with exponential potential.
